Beaver Creek Wild Brown

After an e-mail exchange with James Harris, owner of Beaver Creek Fly Shop .(www.beavercreekflyshop.com), I decided to fish Beaver Creek.Beaver Creek is a beautiful spring creek located near Hagerstown, Maryland and only a 30 minute drive from my house.

Although a bright sunny day, Blue Winged Olives were coming off all afternoon, not in great abundance, but enough to get the fish rising. A size #20 BWO was the ticket to land numerous wild browns and a wild rainbow. None were over 12 inches, but I lost a real nice one while fishing an eddy in the stretch of water behind the shop. It’s always about the one that got away!

Beaver Creek Fly Shop has a great selection of fly tying materials and about anything a fly fisherman would need. James Harris is very knowledgeable and helpful. He sure steered me right today.
